Mrs. Roer is the principal of Buckeye Elementary School and has been in education for fifteen years. She taught kindergarten, fourth, seventh grade and eighth grade while employed in another district. In 2003-2004, she was the associate principal for Estrella Mountain Elementary School and the planning principal for Westar Elementary. She opened Westar Elementary and was the principal for three years. In the 2007-2008 school year, she joined the Buckeye Elementary School District and worked as a mentor principal for the district with the new principals.
As the Principal of BES, she plans on working towards employing Highly Qualified Teachers in each classroom to provide students with the best education possible.
Roer is a graduate of Arizona State University (West Campus), with a Masters in Educational Leadership. She is an active member of the Teacher Education Partnership Commission (TECP) and other educational organizations. During the summer months when she was not teaching, Mrs. Roer worked for the University of Arizona Cooperative Extension 4-H running a residential summer camp in Arizona.
She and her husband of thirty-two years have four children and two grandchildren. She enjoys camping, gardening and traveling with her family as often as possible. She loves children, and believes that school provides students with the tools to build their future.
